A unique and supportive women’s health initiative is coming to Dudley in celebration of International Women’s Day.

The NOWT Women’s Health Bus Tour will be parked in Dudley Town Centre near the fountains and markets on Friday 6 March 2026, offering a free, welcoming space for residents and visitors to access information and support on women’s health issues.

Running from 10am to 4pm, the event invites people of all ages and backgrounds to engage in supportive conversations about women’s health, designed to reduce stigma and make health information more accessible.

NOWT (Navigating Our Womanhood Together) is a collective made up of 12 local voluntary, community, faith, and social enterprise organisations working in partnership with the NHS Black Country Integrated Care Board (ICB) and other health providers. The collective seeks to build community around issues including menstrual health, menopause, reproductive wellbeing, and broader women’s health needs, recognising that every individual’s experience is different.

Visitors to the bus can drop in at any time throughout the day to:

  • Meet friendly health professionals and community partners
  • Chat informally about menstrual, reproductive, and menopausal health
  • Receive information on breast and ovarian cancer awareness
  • Take part in mini health checks
  • Pick up free wellbeing resources
  • Learn about local services and support available across the Black Country.

No appointments are required – just a warm welcome and helpful information in a relaxed environment.

Sally Roberts, Chief Quality Officer, and Chief Nursing Officer for NHS Black Country ICB and NHS Birmingham and Solihull ICB said: “Women’s health is a key priority for us, and initiatives like the NOWT Women’s Health bus tour are a powerful example of how we are bringing care closer to our communities. By working in partnership with local organisations, we can help reduce stigma, improve awareness, and make it easier for women to access the information and support they need.

“International Women’s Day is an important moment to highlight the action we are taking to address health inequalities and ensure women across the Black Country feel confident seeking advice, early support, and preventative care."

Alix Eccles, Specialist Women's Justice Coordinator for Changing Lives and NOWT, said: “The women’s health bus is about creating a space where women feel comfortable, heard, and supported. So many conversations around periods, menopause, fertility, or gynaecological health are still surrounded by silence or embarrassment and we want to change that. By bringing this initiative directly into Dudley town centre, we’re meeting women where they are and reminding them that their health matters. Whether someone wants a quick chat, practical information, or simply reassurance, they will be welcomed without judgement. International Women’s Day is about celebrating women’s strength and that includes taking care of our wellbeing together.”

The event is free to attend and open to everyone.
