The Met Office, in conjunction with the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA), has issued a amber heat alert as temperatures are set to soar this week, with people advised to take extra care in the heatwave conditions.Over the next few days temperatures across Birmingham, the Black Country and Solihull could reach up to 29 degrees, with the amber alert in place from 2pm, Friday 22 May until 5pm, Thursday 28 May.   

Residents in West Bromwich are being urged to hop on board a special red bus offering advice on vaping, smoking, lung health and cancer screening, alongside free health checks.
